Shimano’s Technium line is hugely popular, thanks to the
outstanding strength from their triple core technology. Anglers have always
loved Technium lines because they offer the abrasion resistance, low memory and
power of braid. But this Japanese-made nylon monofilament is unique to the rest
of the series, as it’s almost invisible in the water.
Triple Core Technology
The central core is a completely solid monofilament, which halves the line’s overall stretch from 25% to 12%. This allows for extended casts and better bite detection. The solidity also helps the line sink and stay at the bottom. This allows for great slack line fishing potential.
The second layer keeps the line supple and able to curve to the contours of the water bed. Because this clear mid-layer is virtually memory-free, it prevents coiling or twists on the cast. This part of the line makes it a lot more manageable.
The third layer is exceptionally thin and serves as the UV
protection. This prevents bleaching, which would make the line visible to fish.
This thin layer also prevents UV rays from damaging the line’s structure and
gives the Technium Invisitec a smooth finish, making it quiet on the cast and easy
to pull off the spool.
Almost Disappears in the Water
This monofilament looks purple in bright light, but is
practically invisible when it’s in the water, helping it blend into any lakebed.
The light smoke colouration actually allows the surface it’s sitting on to show
through the line.
