The ST series offers reliable Shimano Baitrunner technology
on a small budget. Shimano has packed an amazing amount of high-end features
into a surprisingly affordable reel. This bigger 10000 version is capable of
pulling in large fish from big swims.
Free Spool for Playing the Fish
The traditional, easy-to-use, rear baitrunner system uses a
free spool system with a powerful, smooth and precise rear drag. Because of the
4.6:1 gear ratio, you’ll have plenty of power for playing large fish.
XT-7 Composite for Durability
The ST 10000’s body and spool are both made from XT-7,
Shimano’s custom graphite material, favoured for its reliability, robustness
and light weight.
Varispeed Line Lay for a Longer Cast
One specially designed gear is oval shaped and the other a
remarkable square shape. They move at two different speeds to lay the line flat
and smooth onto the spool, providing an easy, long distance cast.
A-RC Spool for Reduced Backlash
The spool lip on the Baitrunner ST is V-shaped, which
ensures the line comes off the reel in smaller loops for further and more
accurate casting. Shimano reels with an AR-C spool minimise the risk of
Dyna-Balance for Smooth Running
A shielded stainless steel ball bearing and a roller bearing
encourage super smooth running. Along with the bearing, Shimano’s Dyna-Balance
reduces wobble, which further helps produce an ultra-smooth performance. With
this system, these 2 ball bearings offer the performance equivalent of 5
Power Roller for Reduced Line Twist
The line roller on the Baitrunner ST has a specially grooved
design. This significantly reduces line twist during the retrieve and is a big
advantage when using thin mono and braid.
Super Stopper II for Instant Anti-Reverse
The ST 10000 stops free-play on the handle when the reel’s
set in anti-reverse mode. This allows for micro increment settings of quiver
tips and specialist bite indicators, along with faster hook setting.
Shimano Baitrunner ST 10000 RB and ST 6000 RB Differences
This 10000 size is the larger of the two, more suitable for big pits and heavier fish. The 6000 size is better if you want to save the extra weight and don’t want to target anything bigger than a medium sized carp, barbel, tench, pike or zander.
