I've bought a few of the Marquis reels because I am a fan of Hardy click-pawl reels.
Especially because they are built in the UK since we confused Americans somehow think something made in England isn't "imported".
The fit & finish of the new Marquis is first rate and the multitude of sizes makes it a worthy successor or compliment to the classic Lightweight Series.
The drag on the trout sized reels is about equal to other Hardy "clickers", despite the fancier drag adjustment knob. It is perfect for my needs targeting trout in smaller rivers & streams.
I don't know if the Sal versions have a more robust drag.
As always Harris service & pricing has been extraordinary. The last reel I purchased crossed the pond and was in my hands five days after placing the order.
Well done to Hardy & Harris!

I have older Marquis reels. The new LWTs are nicer as far as the drag detents goes. I fish fiberglass. The #4 is balancing out a 2wt/3wt. The #6 is perfect on a modern glass 5wt and should work fine with my 4wts. These are top quality reels.

This reel is the perfect compliment to go with my 7'0" 3wt bamboo rod which will be fished in the Colorado Rocky Mountain National Park. Purchasing this reel from Harris Sportsmail was very easy and delivery time was super fast. Thanks!
